Letter from Our Founder

Dear BetterBrave Community,

My name is Tammy Cho and I am the founder and CEO of BetterBrave, a nonprofit dedicated to tackling sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace by your side. I am so glad you’re exploring our resources and hope you find them valuable.

I started BetterBrave in part due to my own experiences in the tech industry and the confusion and loneliness I felt when navigating issues at work. After Susan Fowler shared her story about her experiences navigating harassment, discrimination and retaliation at Uber, I soon learned that I was not alone. I felt compelled to take action and teamed up with my colleagues to research just how expansive this issue was (read more about our findings here). We found that sexual harassment and discrimination was pervasive across all industries, yet there was a major lack of affordable resources available to navigate these issues.

BetterBrave was launched to address this gap. Our first set of resources have equipped over 30,000 workers across the nation with knowledge of their rights and connect hundreds of individuals to resources including pro bono employment lawyers and support groups.

Now, we are ramping up to serve millions more through our newest program, BetterBrave Community Platform (in beta), a library of resources powered by people like you. All of our resources are crowdsourced by our community, curated by a panel of experts, and published live for our community to access for free.

BetterBrave is bringing power back to the people. I hope you’ll join us on our mission.

Yours truly,

Tammy Cho

P.S. Special thanks to my former co-founder, Grace Choi, who helped us create and launch our first set of resources in 2017. These resources have been the backbone to the programs we’re launching this year.
